CHICOPEE – Lorraine L. (Couture) Lombardi, 74, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Thursday, November 17, 2022. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on February 17, 1948, a beloved daughter of the late Roland G. and Lucienne A. (Auger) Couture. She was raised in Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee Comprehensive High School and was a lifelong resident of the city. She was employed as an administrative assistant at the Main Branch at Peoples United Bank in Springfield. Lorraine was a loyal Cub Scout Leader for Pack 424 and a member of the Moose Family Center, both in Chicopee. In her quiet time, she loved to sit down and enjoy a good book and work on crossword puzzles. Most of all, she enjoyed traveling with her family, especially to Cape Cod. She was a longtime communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee. She leaves her beloved husband and best friend, Robert M. Lombardi. They were married on September 4, 1967 at Saint Anthony of Padua Church in Chicopee and were blessed with over 55 years of happiness together. She also leaves her three devoted sons, Robert M. “Bobby” Lombardi II and his wife, Sherrilee, of Baldwinville, Christopher M. Lombardi and his wife, Aneta, of Ludlow, James M. Lombardi and his wife, Rachel Allessio-Lombardi, of Westfield; her seven cherished grandchildren, Elyzabeth Taylor, Ethan Pernerewski, Vincenzo Lombardi, Sofia Lombardi, Kamila Lombardi, Neo Lombardi and Isabella Lombardi; her dear brother, Gerard Couture and his wife, Germaine, of Springfield; her three dear brothers-in-law, Neil Lombardi and his wife, Laurie, of Chicopee, Julio Lombardi and his partner, Linda, of Agawam and Michael Lombardi of Chicopee; her three dear sisters in law, Chiara Webster of Fresno, CA, Linda Wogan and her husband, Michael, of New Jersey and Kathy Breault and her husband, Paul, of Chicopee; her cherished “grand-dogs”, Reznor and Coda; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended family members. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her dear sister, Annette Tardiff; her dear brother-in-law, Paul Lombardi; and her beloved canine companions, Elliott and Kay-Dee. Her family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 6 p.m. at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
