Sandra A. DeLay, age 82, of Stoneham, formerly a longtime resident of Winchester, passed away on November 16, 2022.
Born in Winchester, Sandra was the daughter of John and Ruth (Ambrose) DeLay. She was raised and educated in Winchester and was a graduate of Marycliff Academy. She then attended Tufts University and studied history and English.
Upon graduation from Tufts, Sandra spent time traveling. She taught at the American School in Brussels and at the American School in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She then returned home, where she taught high school Social Studies for the majority of her teaching career.
In her spare time, Sandra loved to travel, especially to Europe. She also enjoyed going to the theater, the symphony and following the Boston sports teams.
Sandra is lovingly survived by her sisters: Claire D. Enright and her late husband Charles S. of Lexington, K. Ruth DeLay and her late husband Robert E. Gibbons of Cohasset. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday., November 22 @ 10AM in St. Mary’s Church, 155 Washington St. Winchester. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham.
