Mr. Joseph E. Bergeron, 80 of Methuen, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family. The son of the late Roland and Dezilda (Morin) Bergeron, he was born in Lawrence on January 31, 1942 and had been an area resident most of his life. Mr. Bergeron served honorably in the United States Army. He was retired from Overhead Garage Door in Danvers where he worked as an installer. Mr. Bergeron was involved at the Marsh Corner Church in Methuen where he taught Sunday school and was involved in the Awana program. He was a member of the Carpenter’s Union and was well known as a handy man who could fix anything. The widower of Janice (Malone) Bergeron, he is survived by two daughters: Patricia and her husband Michael Gilligan of Malden, Linda Marini and her wife Susan of Woodstock, GA. Two sons: John Bergeron and his wife Jodi of Salem, NH, Paul Bergeron and his wife Mirlam of Methuen. Three sisters: Claire Bergeron, Monica Bedard, and Pauline Bergeron, three brothers: Roland Bergeron, Jack Bergeron, and Moe Bergeron. There are seven grandchildren: Justine, Joshua, Matthew, Tyler, Melissa, Kali, and Megan. There are several nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements for Mr. Bergeron are under the direction of Edgar J. Racicot Inc. Funeral Home, 1400 Broadway Rd., Dracut. At the request of the family, all services will be private.
