Caroline M. (Forgione) Piazza, age 95, in Winchester, formerly of Medford, Melrose and Florida, passed away on November 12, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph R. Piazza.
Born in East Boston, Caroline was the daughter of the late Armando and Grace (Pirone) Forgione. She was raised and educated in Medford and graduated from Medford High School with the class of 1945.
After high school, Caroline worked as a salesclerk for Filene’s in Boston, as well as other retail positions, and also served as the bookkeeper for her husband’s produce company when they lived in Florida. For a time, she was also the Meal Site Manager for Mystic Valley Elder Services in Malden.
In her spare time, Caroline enjoyed cooking for her family. She was a fabulous cook and especially enjoyed creating a beautiful holiday table with Italian specialties. She and her husband Joe spent time with their family in NH on Lake Winnipesaukee and in Maine on Sebago Lake, boating and celebrating many family milestones.
She is lovingly survived by her children: Sandra G. Weston and her husband Anthony of Saugus, Eva G. Foley and her husband David of Beverly, and James J. Piazza of Stoneham. She was the devoted grandmother of Cherie Rust, Toni Weston, Dana and Raquel Foley, the great-grandmother of Deren & Dustin Dube, Brian Foley and his wife Kaleigh, Grant and Clayton Rust, and the great-great-grandmother of Lauren and Veronica Foley. She was the dear sister of the late Jerry Forgione and Angelina Riccioli and is further survived by several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 2, at 10AM in St. Mary’s Church, 155 Washington St., Winchester. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
