Obituary


Miss Amalia C DiMauro, a longtime resident of Woburn, formerly of Somerville, passed away peacefully, Thursday, November 10, 2022 at the age of 95. Born in Somerville, Amalia was one of four children of the late Emilio and Paulina (Delmonte) DiMauro.

Amalia was raised and educated in Somerville and was a devoted and much-loved elementary school teacher for more than forty years prior to her retirement. Many of those years she taught at the Lincoln Park School in Somerville. Amalia took great comfort in her Catholic faith and was very active at her home parish of St. Anthony Church in Somerville and later when she moved to Woburn, she was also very active at St. Charles Borromeo Church Parish. Throughout her life she enjoyed traveling and especially loved to spend time in Maine. She will fondly be remembered for her devotion to her family and for her devotion to her teaching career.

Amalia was the cherished sister of the late Louisa DiMauro, Jean L. DiMauro, Andrew DiMauro and his surviving wife Elaine of Billerica. Loving aunt of Michael DiMauro and his wife Eva of North Reading, Nancy Visco and her husband Daniel of Billerica and Andrew DiMauro Jr. of Woburn. She is further survived by many great nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to gather at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, Wednesday, November 16th, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 280 Main St., Woburn, at 11:30 a.m. Services will conclude with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Amalia's memory to the Sawtelle Family Hospice House, 320 Haverhill St. Reading, MA 01867.
