Thelma Alene Rowe, 82, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Sunday, November 6, 2022, at Pruitt Health in Ocilla, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Rob Merritt officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Rowe was born July 26, 1940 in Lauderdale County, Mississippi, to the late James Monroe & Thelma Catherine Lowe Williamson. She worked for the Champion Company, H.R. Kaminsky & Sons and Dorminy Medical center as a CNA. Mrs. Rowe enjoyed fishing, playing bingo and dress shopping. She loved her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her three daughters: Elizabeth & Tommy Gentry of Irwinville, Cheryl Deberry of Ocilla, and Diane & Marty Wright of Ocilla; grandchildren: Tommy & Trisha Gentry of Douglas, Brian Gentry of Irwinville, Hope & Chuck Folker of Ocilla, Heather & Todd Whigfield of Charleston, South Carolina, Kristi Strickland of New Albany, Indiana and Savanna Wright of Colorado and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Edwin Rowe; an infant daughter, Mary Charlene Taylor; two brothers: Raymond Earl Williamson and Lamar Williamson and a son-in-law, David Deberry.
