BALDWIN- David Winslow Sargent Sr., age 75, passed away on Nov. 4, 2022, at his home.
He was born on Dec. 5, 1946, in Portland, Maine at the Osteopathic Hospital, a son of the late Carl and Louise Sargent.
He attended Cornish grammar schools and then graduated from Gorham High School in 1965.
David was a Vietnam Veteran who served his country in the US Navy aboard the USS Topeka Kansas from 1965 – 1967.
He went on to work at Douglass Aircraft for a year and then worked for Southworth Machine Company for 20 years. He later worked for Precision Welding as a welder until he was unable to work due to health issues.
He is predeceased by two children- David Sargent Jr. and Laura Sargent; his second former wife- Sandra Fossett Sargent; stepfather- Paul Sargent; and siblings- Michael Sargent, Linda Laughlin, Steven Sargent, and Richard Sargent.
David is survived by his children- Saundra Sargent and Christopher Sargent Sr.; brother- Delwin Sargent; his first former wife- Linda Mae Ash-Sargent; sister-in-law- Rita Sargent; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and Dale Harrington who was like a son to him.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, Nov. 11, at 11 AM at Riverside Cemetery in Cornish.
