Wendy Lee (Donohoe) Ray, 54, a lifelong Lowell resident, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2022 at High Pointe House in Haverhill after a long illness, peacefully with her family by her side.
She was born on November 5, 1967 in Lowell, a daughter of the late Bruce Donohoe and Linda Lee (Lavallee) Donohoe of Tewksbury. She was raised and educated in the South Lowell area.
Wendy worked at Market Basket in Westford in the Market Kitchen for the past 10 years before illness forced her retirement. She loved being outdoors and especially enjoyed time spent at the beach. She was a big fan of the New England Patriots and loved to be with her children and her grandchildren, who meant the world to her.
Besides her beloved mother, Linda, she is survived by her children, Eddie Ray of Providence, RI and Jessie Turcotte and her fiance, Mike Downs, of Leominster; her 3 grandchildren, Brandon Turcotte and Gavin and Rylee Downs; her 2 brothers, Shawn Donohoe and his wife, Diane of Salida, Colorado and Matthew Donohoe and his significant other, Jenna, of Rifle, Colorado; her Godparents, June and Howard Dailey and many cousins, including Kim Hebert of Lowell. She is also survived by her former husband and close friend, Edward Ray of Lowell.
On Saturday, November 12, 2022, you are invited to her visitation from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 Highland Street, Lowell, MA 978-458-6816. At approximately 2 p.m. eulogies will be spoken and a song will be played in her honor at the funeral home.
