Ann Louise (Ruma) Cascio of Stoneham, MA. peacefully passed away on November 3rd, 2022. She was 88. Ann was born in the West End, Boston and grew up in Medford - later settling in Stoneham where she raised her family. She was the cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Ruma.
Ann was a hard working woman who carried her strong Italian work ethic throughout her life. She was a devoted mother who was always there for her children to provide support, loving care and guidance with her infinite wisdom. She enjoyed hosting holidays and many other special occasions at her home. She always brought a cheerful spirit to all gatherings with her traditional dishes of lasagna, stuffed artichokes, angel cake and breaded chicken cutlets. Her recipes were handed down as family favorites. Ann was a successful furniture saleswoman, working in that profession for many years. Among her favorite activities were dancing and listening to music, as well as spending annual vacations with her children and grandchildren at Disneyworld and Ogunquit Beach. Throughout her life, the music of Frank Sinatra, Engelbert Humperdinck and others brought her much joy. She will be deeply missed by all those who loved her.
Ann was the dear sister of the late Marie and her late husband Vincent Palumbo of Winchester, the late Judge Santo Ruma and his surviving wife Joan of Winchester, Joseph Ruma and his wife Helaine Palmer of Andover and sister-in-law of the late Mela (Cascio) Leopold. She was the devoted mother of Matthew Cascio of Indiana, John Cascio and his wife Arlene of Saugus, Carol Ann Howe and her husband Tom of Tewksbury and Diane Cascio of Stoneham. She is also survived by her grandchildren Matthew Cascio Jr., Mary Cascio-Rawlings and her husband Mark, Mia Cascio, Nicole Hayes and her husband Jonathan, Megan Cascio, Nicolas Fowler, Danielle Howe and great-granddaughter Maxine Rawlings. Ann is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with Ann’s family at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Thursday, November 10th, 2022 from 9:00 through 10:30 AM. Immediately following, a funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford at 11 AM. Services will conclude with a burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
