James E. "Jimmy" Lane Jr., a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at the Marian Manor Nursing Home in South Boston. He was 72 years of age.
Jimmy was born in Boston on November 28, 1949, a son of the late James E. Lane and Ruth A. (Nolan) Lane. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated throughout the Boston Public School system. Jimmy worked as a Clerk for the Registry of Motor Vehicles and retired following 35 years of dedicated service to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. In his spare time, Jimmy enjoyed watching high school and college hockey and the Boston Bruins.
Jimmy is the beloved son of the late James E. Lane and Ruth A. (Nolan) Lane. He is the devoted brother of John "Jack" Lane and his wife Martha, Paul Lane and his wife Christine and the late Donna Marie Lane and Ann Marie Lane. He is the cherished uncle to Karen Ferreira and her husband John and also survived by his other loving nieces and nephews James Stavropoulos, David Lane, Alexandra Pipilas, Benjamin Lane, Emily Lane, MacKenzie Lane and loving great-uncle to John Michael Ferreira and the late Katlyn Lane. He is the dear friend of Eddie and Pam Sullivan.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jimmy's Funeral Service on Wednesday morning, November 9, 2022 at 11 A.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. His burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. His visiting hours will be on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 from 4 to 7 P.M. in the funeral home.
