Gordon Adrian Howe, 90, of Anderson passed away on October 31, 2022 at his residence following a brief illness.
He was born on January 17, 1932 in Jamestown, New York to Henry Gordon and Lora Pearl (Cummings) Howe.
He was a Church of God minister and pastor serving for 31 years in Gloucester City, New Jersey; Ft. Myer’s, Florida and 17 years in Lakeland, Florida retiring in 1984. He co-owned and managed a Self-Storage Business retiring in 2014. He was an experienced brick mason, a trade he learned in college and used extensively for ministry related projects including Warner University as well as private residences over his lifetime..
He attended Park Place Church of God since 2014 and was highly involved with the TBA Church in Lakeland, Florida throughout his retirement in Florida. He enjoyed fly-fishing in the mountains, traveling, sports, and spending time with his beloved family and many friends. He thoroughly enjoyed utilizing his gifts as a brick mason and building construction and gave generously of his time and resources .
He is survived by his three children, David (Debbie) Howe of Corfu, New York; Lisa (Stan) Horner of Anderson and Christal Howe Helvering of Anderson; six grandchildren, Christopher (Amber) Horner, Michael Horner, Whitney Haneline (“adopted”), Marissa Logan, Paul (Jennifer) Passamonte, Joseph (Lindsay) Passamonte, and Bobbie Jo Wilson; five great-grandchildren, Finley Horner expected January 1st, Royce Wilson, Heath Wilson, Cylus Passamonte, Brynlee Passamonte, and Desirae Howe; three nieces and nephews, Catherine (Brian) Murtha, Mark (Kim) Collins, and Pat (Bruce) Collins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Nita Howe on October 14, 2017; and a grandson, Derek Howe.
A private graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at East Maplewood Cemetery with Pastor Brian Legg and Dr. Johnathan Grubbs officiating.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm on Monday, November 7, 2022 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service.
