Walter “Butchy” J. Muggridge, age 76, of Brockton, died on Saturday October 29, 2022 at his home under the care of his family. He was the devoted husband of Evelyn (O’Brien) Muggridge and loving father of Karen Muggridge-Alicea.
Walter was born and raised in South Boston, a son of the late Thomas and Anna (Bulens) Muggridge. He served in the US Army and was stationed in Vietnam where he was an Army Ranger and “Tunnel Rat.” He was a longtime member of VFW 1046 in Brockton, The American Legion and the DAV.
Walter was an x-ray technician at Tufts Medical Center and retired in 2017 after 44 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, working on projects around his home and spending time with his wife and pets. Walter will be remembered as being a simple man who enjoyed talking to everyone he met.
In addition to his wife, Walter is survived by his daughter Karen Muggridge-Alicea and son in law Edward MacKenzie of South Boston, MA.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton on Friday, November 4, from 5-8pm.
