Michael J. Browne, 71, a lifelong resident of Worcester, died unexpectedly of natural causes on Wednesday, October 26th.
Michael is survived by his daughter, Pamela Gerardi and son-in-law, Jason of Wilmington, MA; his brother James Browne and his partner Eileen Hennigan of Worcester; his sister Catherine (Browne) LaRiviere and her husband James of Worcester; his brother Daniel Browne of Holden, MA; his brother-in-law Nick Pesola of Carmel, NY and his brother-in-law Dick Bergstrom of Worcester.
Michael also leaves behind his beloved granddaughter, Eva Gerardi who will greatly miss her “Grampa Handsome”, as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Michael was predeceased by his wife, Louise (Beauchemin) Browne and parents, James M. Browne and Eileen (Morrissey) Browne of Worcester, MA. He was also predeceased by his sister-in-law Diane (Jakubiak) Browne; his sister-in-law Suzanne Kearns Browne; his sister Maureen (Browne) Pesola; his sister Ellen (Browne) Bergstrom and brother Padriag Browne.
As a young man, Michael worked as an EMT in Worcester. Later he began selling cars and opened a dealership, Wholesale Auto Exchange, with his brother Jim. He continued in the car business for the rest of his life.
Michael was extremely proud of his Irish Heritage and was very happy to visit his family home in Kilflynn, Ireland a few years ago.
He was known to be a generous man and was always willing to help a friend in need. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed regaling friends and family with stories of his misspent youth. He loved both pretty cars and pretty clothes equally and was easily spotted around the Main South area in both.
A celebration of life will be held Monday, November 7th from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a brief service beginning at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Leary Firefighters Foundation https://learyfirefighters.org/
