Eleanor (Hull) Hurst, 94, of Halifax, MA passed away peacefully in Plymouth on October 29, surrounded by her loving family.
Ellie was born in Boston, MA, the daughter of the late Daisy (Lamb) and Stanley Hull.
She grew up in Dorchester and graduated from Girls Latin School, where she was a member of the Drum and Bugle Corps.
She lived in Randolph and Pembroke, MA before settling in Halifax. She had worked at the South Shore Country Club, as well as Fernandes and Stop & Shop supermarkets.
Ellie loved working, camping, and playing Bingo and Left-Right-Center with her good friends at the park, but her greatest joy was spending time with her loving family.
She loved life and remained active through her final days. She is now reunited with her late husband William Hurst.
Ellie is survived by her children: James (Jimbo) Buccella, of Hawaii; Donald Buccella, and his wife Tammy, of Pembroke; Barbara Weatherbee, and Bob, of Middleboro; and Janice Cunio, and her husband Ron, of Halifax. She also leaves her sister Carol Lockwood, with whom she shared a special bond. She leaves her grandchildren Ethan Mueller, William Philhower, Derek Philhower, and Jess; Donald Buccella, and Hillary; Margaret Daley, and her husband Sean; Jennifer Dennehy, and her husband Brian; Charlene Bayer, Jody Hurst, and Scott Hurst, and his wife Maura. Also, eleven great-grandchildren. Ellie was sister to the late Muriel Baggett, Dorothy Van Derhei, Jean Bragami and Stanley, Kneeland and Richard Hull.
Family and friends are invited to attend her visiting hours on Sunday November 6 from 2:00-5:00 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman and her funeral service at 10:00 AM on Monday November 7 in the Chapel. Burial will follow at 12:30 PM in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
