Maureen E. “Renee” (Lynch) Larkin, age 80, of Winthrop passed away at home on October 14, 2022 after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Silas and Marion (Rebello) Lynch and her granddaughter Shannon Kirby. She is survived by her daughter Deborah (Lynch) Collins and her husband Christopher of WA, her son William Larkin of Winthrop, her grandchildren Meagan Kirby, Liam Kirby and Rebecca Larkin, her sister Ann (Lynch) Durfee and her husband George of New Hampton NH as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Renee graduated from Winthrop High School in 1960 and worked as Billing Specialist at Massachusetts General Hospital. Renee loved to knit, especially as gifts to her friends and family, loved animals and was a volunteer for many years at the Humane Society in Methuen, MA. She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in Winthrop. Renee loved to spend time with her family and friends and will be greatly missed by many.
Shannon Maureen "Red" Kirby, 24, of Chehalis, WA. passed away at home on Oct 31, 2020. She is survived by her parents, Deborah and Christopher Collins of WA, and William Kirby, Jr. of Portland, OR; her sister, Meagan Kirby, and brother, William (Liam) Kirby, as well as many family and friends.
Shannon worked on the family lavender farm, as well as having her own farm-sitting business. She loved animals and growing things, and was never happier than when she was covered in dirt and holding one of her many animals. She is sorely missed by her family and friends.
A funeral Mass for Maureen and Shannon will be held in St. Michael the Archangel Parish (St. John the Evangelist Church) 320 Winthrop St. Winthrop, on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 11:30AM. Relatives and friends are invited. Please go directly to church. Interment for Maureen will follow in Winthrop Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to ASPCA in Maureen and Shannon's memory.
