Herbert, Deborah A. of Lexington October 23, 2022. Age 71. Beloved daughter of the late Joseph G. Herbert Jr. and Eve C. Herbert of Needham. Deborah grew up in Needham where she had fond memories of her time at St. Bartholomew Elementary School. She was graduated from Elizabeth Seton High School in Wellesley. Debbie earned a B.S. in Political Science from Marymount College in New York in 1973 and later, she received an M.B.A. in Accounting at Babson College Graduate School of Management in Wellesley, MA.
Deborah was formerly employed by Unitrode in both MA and CA locations. In 1990, she assumed the role of accountant and ultimately Chief Financial Officer at Taylor Freezer of New England in Norwood, MA. She continued hard at work throughout this year. She was extraordinarily committed to Taylor and will always be remembered for her remarkable contributions during her 32-year career. Deb worked tirelessly to secure a bright future for Taylor’s 3rd generation.
Additionally, Deborah had recently retired as a long-standing board member of the Russell Square Condo Association in Lexington, MA. She was also formerly active with the Quechee Lakes Homeowner Association in Quechee, VT.
An avid gardener, Debbie loved reading garden books and a good historical novel. She also enjoyed watching classic movies and New England sports. Deb especially loved spending time with her family.
Deborah was the loving and devoted sister of Edward and his wife Patricia of Milton, Patricia H. Merriam and her husband Russ of Franklin, Michael Herbert and his wife Meredith of Winchester, Timothy Herbert and his wife Pam of Westwood.
She was also the dearest aunt of Alison Sullivan and her husband Mike of Mansfield, Joe Herbert and his wife Mary of Norfolk, Mary Herbert of Milton, Joel Merriam and his wife Virginia of Franklin, William Herbert and Louis Herbert of Somerville, Meghan Herbert of San Francisco, Thomas Herbert and Colin Herbert of Westwood, and the great aunt of Logan Merriam of Franklin.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 1305 Highland Ave., NEEDHAM on Thursday, Nov. 3 from 3-7pm and Friday, Nov. 4 at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Deborah’s life at 10am in St. Bartholomew Church, 1180 Greendale Ave., Needham. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Needham.
