CHICOPEE – Lillian L. (Latour) Daviau, 90, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, October 26, 2022. She passed into Eternal Life at home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born at home on Joffrey Avenue in South Hadley on December 2, 1931, a beloved daughter of the late Joseph A. and Bella L. (Francoeur) Latour. She moved with her family to Fairview, graduated from Chicopee High School and had lived in Fairview the remainder of her life. She was employed for many years at the former Totsy Manufacturing Company in Chicopee. She was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee. During her leisure time, she enjoyed trying her luck at local bingo games and playing the slot machines at Foxwoods Casino in Mashantucket, CT where she was lucky to win $5000 on her last visit that was “already spent”. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and soul mate, Richard M. “Dick” Daviau who was Called Home on December 23, 2006. They were married on May 10, 1952 at Saint Anne Church in Chicopee and were blessed with over 54 years of happiness together. She leaves her four loving children, Denise M. Viens and her husband, Paul, and Darlene M. Stawarz and her husband, Ray, all of Chicopee, Dennis M. Daviau of Ludlow and Dale M. Benard and her husband, Ron, of Chicopee; her eight cherished grandchildren, Wendy Muglia and her husband, John, Craig Viens and his wife, Kathy, Jessica Boone and her husband, Rick, Eric Stawarz and his partner, Kira Yvon, April Wolk and her husband, Chad Clifford, Jeremy Daviau and his wife, Emily, Jeffrey Benard and his wife, Sarah, and Daniel Benard and his wife, Lyndsey; her 14 cherished great grandchildren, Gianna and John, Charlotte and Christian, Luke and Noah, Bella Rose, Gavin and Brody, Noah and Hannah and Caleb, Cody and Kaydence; her dear sister, Betty O’Neill of Chicopee; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended family members. Her funeral will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022 beginning at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Notre Dame Cemetery, 63 Lyman Street, South Hadley, MA 01075. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, November 3, 2022 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The funeral home parking lot is located in the rear.
