McCourt, Paul J. 68, of Hingham and Harwichport, formerly of Wellesley and Newton, passed away on October 23, 2022 after a long battle from a stroke. The son of the late Mary and Robert J. McCourt, Sr. Brother of Robert J. Jr. and Debra of Cohasset, Gary and Mary of Milton, Gregory of Chestnut Hill, Christopher, Sr. of Englewood, FL, Brian and Jennifer Reidy of South Boston and the late Peter McCourt and Mary Simard of South Boston. Loving uncle to 12 nieces and nephews. Paul led a life based in faith, family, and friends. He was a graduate of Xaverian Brothers High School and Boston College. Paul had a successful career in commercial real estate as Vice President of The Conrad Group. Paul was especially fond of spending summers throughout his life in Harwichport where he developed many close lifelong friendships. His easy- going nature and welcoming personality made everyone he met become an immediate friend. Paul was sincerely interested in each person he met and would recall detail of that person bringing a smile and sense of ease to all. Paul was a founding member of The McCourt Foundation, which was established in memory of his parents to bring awareness of neurological diseases. He served as a board member until his death. Also, in his own quiet and humble way he gave to many worthy causes and was active as a volunteer with My Brother’s Keeper: giving back to others was important to him.
Visiting hours will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St., (Rt.16) Wellesley on Thursday, Nov. 3 from 4:00-7:00pm. His funeral will be held from the funeral home on Friday, Nov. 4 at 10:00am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, 502 Washington St., Wellesley at 11:00am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment in Holyhood Cemetery, Brookline.
