We are heartbroken to announce the passing of a beloved husband, father and brother, Steven R. Copeland.
Steve Copeland, 57, of Rockland Massachusetts passed away on October 22 unexpectedly while hiking in New Hampshire.
Born in Beverly, Massachusetts in 1965 and first son of Russell "Rusty" and Dorris "Duffy" (Codding) Copeland.
He graduated from Springfield College in 1987 and immediately met the love of his life, Maureen.
Steve started his career as a guard at General Electric in Lynn for a short time before landing a full-time position at Commercial Union Insurance, while also working for the Rockland Police Department. For the past 13 years he has been a medical malpractice insurance adjuster at CRICO Risk Management.
He loved to go hiking, fish on his bass boat, camp with his best friend Shawn Huth, spend time with his family, and drink Manhattans.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Maureen, and four children, Steven, Alicia, Patrick, Mara and their beloved dog, Gigi as well as his younger brother Jon Copeland and wife Sue Copeland from Tampa, Florida. Also loved by his brother-in-law Tom Hamill and sister-in-law Marienne Spencer and Paul Bavacqua and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday October 27 from 4-7 pm in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman, MA. His funeral services will be held Friday October 28 at 8:15 am from the Chapel followed by a funeral Mass at 9 am in the Holy Family Church, Rockland, MA. Burial will follow in the Holy Family Cemetery.
