Joseph Roche, 83, of Whitman, passed away on Monday, October 24 peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of the late Theresa (Curley) Roche.
Born and raised in Boston, he was the son of the late Joseph and Lillian (Raftery) Roche.
He enjoyed traveling with his wife and spending time with his family. Before his retirement, he spent most of his life as a butcher.
Joseph is survived by his daughters Donna McFarlin of Sandwich and Carol Potter and her husband Matthew of Whitman. He was the brother of Loretta Connor of Scituate, Marie Roche of Littleton, Paul Roche of Long Beach, California, predeceased by Kathleen Roche and George Roche. He also leaves his cherished grandchildren Joseph Barrett, Robert Barret and his wife Jessica, Ryan McFarlin, Brittany Cavagnaro and her husband Scott, Matthew Potter, John Bilunas and his wife MaryRose, and predeceased by his grandson Derek Barrett. Joseph also had the privilege of being a great grandfather to Cadence, Bryson, Cian, Cecilia, William, Olivia, and Mila.
His funeral services will be held on Saturday October 29 at 9:45 am from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30am in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. Burial will follow in the Saint James Cemetery, Whitman. Visitation will be on Friday October 28 from 5:00-7:00pm in the Chapel.
