WEBSTER – Jozef Piwowarczyk, 84, died Saturday, October 22, 2022 at home after a period of declining health.
He leaves his wife of 59 years, Maria (Klimczak) Piwowarczyk; 4 sons, Kazimierz Piwowarczyk and his wife Anna of Webster, Stanislaw Piwowarczyk of Dudley, Wojciech Piwowarczyk and his companion Melanie Snay of Webster, and Piotr Piwowarczyk and his companion Jennifer Germano of Auburn; a daughter, Teresa Piwowarczyk-DiLeo and her husband David DiLeo of Worcester; 11 grandchildren, Krystian and his wife Kelly, Mateusz and his companion Melissa, Amadeusz, Patryk, Gabriela, Daria, Natalia, Eryk, Jake, Nicholas and Andrew; a brother, Franciszek Piwowarczyk and his wife Maria, and a sister Maria Sudyka, all of Webster; nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his daughter Teresa (age 7), by 2 brothers, Jan and Frederyck and by a sister, Stanislawa Dumicz.
He was born on March 18, 1938 in Skalnik, Poland, a son of Wojciech and Francziszka (Bilska) Piwowarczyk. He graduated from a technical high school and then earned an associates degree. He moved from Poland to Webster in 1990.
He first was a corrections officer in Poland and then worked in construction here for several years, retiring in 2002.
Mr. Piwowarczyk was a member of Saint Joseph Basilica. He enjoyed gardening and riding motorcycles in his younger years. His life was dedicated to his family.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, October 25, from the Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 on Monday, October 24, in the funeral home.
