Karen M. (Higson) Landry, 79, of Wilton, NH passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 18 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Nashua, NH.
She was born, raised and educated in Lowell and was a graduate of Keith Catholic High School with the Class of 1961. Shortly after her graduation she was married and began to raise a family. She was a parishioner of the former St. Peter’s Church in Lowell.
Karen loved 10 pin bowling, having won several tournaments, some televised and even converted a 7-10 split on television. She also enjoyed crochet, traveling, especially cruises, bingo and trips to the casino.
She worked as a switchboard operator for over 20 years with Exchange Network Answering Service in Lowell before her retirement. Karen will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, her love for her family, and her delicious banana fritters.
She is survived by her sons, Robert F. Landry, Jr. and his wife Katrin, of Nashua, NH, Richard M. Landry and his fiancé Joan Wendell of Littleton, Jeffrey J. Landry, Sr. and his wife Kimberly, of Wilton, NH; her 5 grandchildren, Jeffrey J. Landry, Jr. of Wilton, NH, Aleah M.L. Landry of Lowell, Helleny Landry of Nashua, NH, Elizabeth Brick and Matthew Brick Both of Dracut; her son in law Dennis Brick of Dracut; many other extended family including many siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Lastly, she is survived by her beloved puppy “Galifrey the Dalmatian”.
She is predeceased by her parents James J. Higson I and Rita Whitworth; her siblings Rita Verge, James J. Higson II, John W. Higson, William J. Higson Sr.; her former husband Robert F. Landry Sr., as well as her cherished daughter Patricia Landry-Brick.
On Monday, October 24, 2022 all are welcome to attend her visiting hours from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 Highland Street, Lowell, MA 978-458-6816. Her funeral procession will begin on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at 10 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by her funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. John The Evangelist Church, 115 Middlesex Street, Chelmsford, MA.
