Yered Sr., George J. of Needham, October 19, 2022. Age 101. Beloved husband of the late Dolores (Matchett) Yered. Devoted father of Sarah Jane Adams and her husband John of Needham; George J. Yered and his wife Janet of Millis; the late Frank Yered and his surviving wife Margaret of Medway; the late Robert Yered and his surviving wife Virginia of Millis. Devoted brother-in-law of Martha Kisser. Also survived by 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
George was a retired salesman for John Hancock Insurance Company and retired employee of the U.S. Post Office. He served in the US Army Infantry Division in Okinawa. He was a member of the Needham VFW Post 2498 and an avid boater and fisherman.
Visiting hours at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 1305 Highland Ave. Needham on Tuesday, October 25, from 9AM-11AM followed by a funeral service at 11AM in the funeral home. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment in St. Mary Cemetery, Needham. A celebration of life reception will be held at a later date.
