William James Tomberlin, Sr., 94, of Irwin County, Georgia, died Friday, October 21, 2022, at Tift Regional Medical Center, in Tifton, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Monday, October, 24, 2022, at the Warwick United Methodist Church Cemetery, in Warwick, Georgia.
Mr. Tomberlin was born August 12, 1928, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late James Albert & Willie Maude Dix Tomberlin. He served his country honorably for 26 years in the United States Air Force, and retired as a Master Sergeant. Mr. Tomberlin was a master carpenter, he loved to garden and he enjoyed people and his family. He never met a stranger and was a devoted husband and father.
He is survived by his four children: Helga Davis of Oregon, Watheda Terry of Virginia, James Frederick Tomberlin of Colorado and William James Tomberlin, Jr. of Irwin County; grandchildren: Kevin Goodrich and Lisa Goodrich Moore; siblings: Betty Nell Parrish of Davie, Florida, Virginia Hogan of Irwinville and Vivian Martin Hancock of Land’s Crossing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Altheda Tomberlin; grandchild, Bobby Terry; and siblings: Drew Tomberlin, Geneva Morris and Roger Tomberlin.
