Mary R. Cinelli, 80
Dateline: Mansfield, MA
Mary R. Cinelli, 80, passed away peacefully at her son’s home in North Attleboro after a long illness on October 20, 2022. She was a former long-time resident of Mansfield. She was the wife of Francis J. Cinelli, Jr., who predeceased her in 1994.
Born on October 10, 1942 in Greenfield, Ma, she was the daughter of the late Felix and Rita Cerrato. Mary retired in 2006 after a long teaching career in the Attleboro school system. She was very proud to be the first computer teacher hired in Attleboro and also spent many years as the score recorder for the Hockomock Sports league (back when scores were reported nightly through a rotary phone).
Many will remember Mary as the constant companion of her late husband Frank, and the many hours they devoted to Education in area towns, especially Plainville. A very strong woman, she conquered Polio as a young child, and enjoyed living with her son and his family over the past several years.
Mary leaves behind her devoted son Matthew Cinelli and his wife Kelly of North Attleboro and their children Eddie, Anna and Rocco: Marc Cinelli and his wife Kristin of Brockton and their children Ryan and Isabelle. She was the sister of Felix Cerrato (Evelyn) of North Attleboro; Margaret Gove (Harry) of Turners Falls, Ma; and the late John Cerrato of South Boston. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Lisa LaMountain for her devotion as Mary’s personal caregiver over the last several years.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, October 28th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 29th at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt Street (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.
