Obituary

Claire F. (O’Rourke) Jackman, 71, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Sunday, May 21, at home under the care of Old Colony Hospice. She was the wife of 50 years of James R. Jackman. Born in Boston, she was raised in Roslindale and a graduate of Cathedral High in Boston. Mrs. Jackman was a resident of Stoughton for over 44 years. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Jackman was active at Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton as a CCD Teacher and a Bingo worker. She was also active with CYO at St. Mary’s School in Stoughton many years ago. Mrs. Jackman and her husband Jim were also very active with Stoughton Little League. In her free time, she enjoyed listening to Irish Music, traveling to Foxwoods and spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Gregg B. Jackman, Michael P. Jackman and Sheila A. Campbell all of Stoughton, James G. Jackman of Brockton, Gary M. Jackman of Newtown, CT, Sean R. Jackman of New Bedford and Erin C. D’Amadio of Bridgewater. She was the sister of the late Grace O’R. Carpenter. She is also survived by her 14 grandchildren.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday at 9:15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:15 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday 4-8 PM. Donations in Claire’s name may be made to the National Alliance for Autism Research (NAAR), 99 Wall St., Research Park, Princeton, NJ 08540. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
