Worcester – Donald J. Viens, 75, of Worcester, passed away peacefully in the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 after a brief illness.
Donald is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ruth A. (Landry) Viens; his two sons, Andre C. Viens and his wife, Heather of Holden and Mark P. Viens and his wife, Rachel of Webster; a sister, Yvette Gauthier and her husband Roger of Worcester; 8 grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
Mr. Viens was born in Worcester, son of the late Charles A. and Loretta E. (Rock) Viens and graduated from Assumption College.
Don worked for over 20 years as an Outside Sales Consultant with GCS Sales and Marketing of Canton retiring in 2014. He was a longtime member of Saint George Church in Worcester where he volunteered for many activities throughout the years.
Mr. Viens could often be found working in his yard, but he was truly the happiest when he was spending time with his family.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 25 from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in saint George Church 38 Brattle St. Worcester. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours will be held on Monday, October 24 from 5 to 7 PM in the funeral home. Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Viens may be made to St. George Church.
