Ronald F. Mendes, 71, of New Bedford, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 18, 2022.
Born in New Bedford, son of the late Frank and Beatrice (Gonsalves) Mendes, he lived in New Bedford most of his life.
Ronald loved sports, and reading. He enjoyed helping others and was always feeding the homeless in New Bedford.
Survivors include his son, Ronald F. Mendes, Jr. of Georgia, his siblings, Robert W. Mendes and his wife Olga of New Bedford, Dennis J. Mendes of Florida, Frank Mendes, Jr. of Georgia, Janice Mendes and Lynette J. Mendes of New Bedford; 14 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and his godmother Mary Mendes of Boston.
He is predeceased by his children, Rhonda and D'nique; and his siblings, Stephen and Faith.
Ronald's visitation will be Monday, October 24th from 10AM to 12 PM with a service at 12 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery.
