Paul Vincent Clemeno, age 54, of Medford passed away on Friday, October 14th, at Boston’s Brigham & Women's Hospital. A lifelong Medford resident, he was the devoted son of James and Clara (Matarese) Clemeno.
Paul was the beloved longtime partner of Camille Mendoza, and the dear brother of Kirok Clemeno and his wife Amanda of Worthington, MA, and Andrea Taddeo and her husband Eric of Medford, MA. He was the loving uncle of Amanda and James Clemeno, and Jessica and Elizabeth Taddeo. Paul is also survived by a large and loving extended family and friends.
Paul was a graduate of Medford High School ’85, where he was an honored athlete and football captain. He continued playing football as he studied business and marketing at Central Connecticut State University. After 20 years in the corporate world, he traded in his suit and tie for jeans and paint covered t-shirts as he started PVC Management and began purchasing and renovating houses. He was a creative and skilled carpenter, and his work reflected a great appreciation and understanding for architectural history, which was recognized by the New Bedford Historical Society. He provided these beautifully renovated homes, some of which were historical, to many needy families.
Paul was known for his generosity and kindness in spirit, always jumping at every opportunity to help. Paul worked incredibly hard and saved his money for the benefit of others. Paul’s legacy will forever remain in the painted walls, renovated rooms, patios, and pergolas he built—constant reminders of his generosity, talents, and willingness to help. In addition, he was an animal lover with a soft spot for rescue dogs. He loved spending time outside birdwatching in his garden that featured an impressive collection of succulents. He loved the sun and breeze as he drove his convertible to listen to live music or to enjoy the North Shore waterfronts.
A funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford, on Saturday, October 22nd at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with family from 9 through 11 AM in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, Paul’s family requests expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations in his name to Animal Care c/o Dr. Jason Lord, 38 Lakeside Ave., North Dartmouth 02747 or the Medford High School Football Program Paul V. Clemeno Scholarship, 46 Lawrence St., Medford, MA 02155.
