Carolyn Ann Wright (Carol), age 83, of Ventura, CA passed on Thursday, October 13, 2022, in Ventura, CA. Carol was born in Merced, CA to parents George and Margaret Southward. She loved gardening - showing off her prize-winning roses and English garden to the neighborhood where she enjoyed daily walks. Her delicious baked goods and skilled needlecraft earned her many ribbons at the Ventura County Fair. She also enjoyed the congregation of her church, St. Paul’s Episcopal in Ventura where she was a member for over 60 years. She treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren but missed meeting her first great granddaughter.
Carol is survived by her oldest daughter, Alice of Ventura, her grandchildren Matthew, Cedar and Serena, great granddaughter Elaine, and nephews and a niece. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband Bob; youngest daughter, Jill; her parents, and her sister Beverly.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to her church, St. Paul’s Episcopal, 3290 Loma Vista Road, Ventura. A celebration of life will be held at St. Paul’s and her ashes buried in the Memorial Rose Garden, at the church, on January 14, 2023. Arrangements are under the direction of Joseph P. Reardon Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ventura.
