John J. McGloughlin, Sr.
Formerly of Tewksbury


LOWELL: John J. McGloughlin Sr., age 63, a resident of Lowell, passed away at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Boston on Thursday, October 13, 2022, from complications of ALS.

Born in Boston on January 27, 1959, he was the son of the late David C. McGloughlin, Jr. and the late Rosalie C. (LaPorte) McGloughlin.

John was raised in Tewksbury, attended Tewksbury schools and graduated from Tewksbury Memorial High School in 1976.

John was a talented chef and businessman, running his own business for a number of years and worked as a chef in local establishments. John’s primary passion was always cooking but he was also very talented in other areas and enjoyed carpentry, landscaping, and pursuing his artistic abilities.

John is survived by his sons, John J. McGloughlin Jr. of Tewksbury, Keegan W. McGloughlin of Lowell, and his daughter, Sierra R. Roberts of Lowell; his brother Robert G. McGlouglin of Dracut: his sister, Kathleen Ahearn of Atkinson NH, and his sister, Mary C. Marks and her husband Lester of Riverview FL. He was predeceased by his brother David C. McGloughlin III and his stepdaughter Kerri L. Johnston. John leaves his devoted friend Mary E. Calobrisi of Merrimac, his former mother-in-law Natalie B. Robitaille of Tewksbury and former wife and friend Doreen C. LaFleur of Tewksbury. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, October 22nd, from 9-11 a.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury, followed by his graveside service and burial of his ashes at St. Mary Cemetery, 90 River Road, Tewksbury.
