Eugene R. Masse', 93, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2022, at the New Hampshire Veterans Home, Tilton, NH.
Born in Woonsocket, RI, on May 29, 1929, he was the son of Eugene and Irene (Cantara) Masse'.
Eugene’s family moved to Manchester, NH while he was still young. He graduated from West High School in Manchester, Class of 1948. He attended Saint Anselm College and the New York Institute of Photography.
A veteran of the Korean War, Eugene was a Staff Sargent in the United States Marine Corps, serving as a mortar platoon leader.
He retired from Sanders Associates in 1990 after 35 years as an industrial photographer, specializing in high-speed motion pictures.
Gene was a longtime parishioner at Saint Edmund of Canterbury and Saint John the Baptist, now Parish of the Transfiguration.
Family members include his wife of 67 years, Jeanne M. (Hebert) Masse' of Goffstown, five children: Raymond E. Masse' and his wife, Gail of Manchester, Paul A. Masse' and his wife, Cynthia of Agawam, MA, Guy A. Masse' of Houston, TX, John L. Masse' and his wife, Lisa of Deltona, FL, Rachel J. (Masse’) Partridge and her husband, Christopher of Somerville, MA, two grandsons: Andrew Masse' and Eric Masse', and several beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by a sister, Jeanette (Masse') Paradis, and her husband, Robert, of Westwood, NJ.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at 11 am in Parish of the Transfiguration Church, 110 Kelley St., Manchester, NH. Committal prayers and Military Honors will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester, NH.
J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations in Eugene’s honor to the New Hampshire Veterans Home.
