Obituary




Edward J. Carlino, lifelong resident of Medford, passed away on Thursday, October 13th. He was 89. Born and raised in Medford, he was the cherished son of the late Salvatore and Josephine (LaCreta) Carlino. Edward graduated from Medford High School and continued his education at Northeastern and Bentley Universities. He entered into the United States Marines in the summer of 1953, and served during the Korean War.

Edward was the epitome of a hard worker. He was the perfect example of having a strong work ethic. He enjoyed a successful career at Tufts University for over 30 years. He was dedicated to his family and taking care of them was his main priority. His world revolved around them. He enjoyed watching classic war movies, tinkering around the house, going fishing with his sons and taking care of his garden.

Edward was the beloved husband of 54 years to the late Josephine A. (Papolio) Carlino. He was the devoted father of Karen A. Carlino and her late fiancé Joseph A. Monaco, Edward J. Carlino Jr., and Joseph M. Carlino. He was the dear brother of Marie Harrell, Alex Carlino, Johnny Carlino and the late George, Tony and Frank Carlino. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with Edward’s family on Friday, October 21st from 9 to 11 AM in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, followed by a funeral service at 11 AM. Burial will be private.
