Arthur Tsatis, 72, of North Brookfield died Sunday, October 9, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family, and family of caregivers. He leaves his two sisters, Linda Peters and her husband, Gary, of Worcester, and Joanne McMahan, of Southborough; a niece, Diana Peters, of Worcester; two nephews, Michael Peters and his wife, Melissa, of Sterling, and Gregory Peters, and his wife, Emily, of Framingham; and many cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Evangelos and Dimitroula (Liolis) Tsatis. Arthur also leaves his housemates John, Phil, and Eric.
He was born in Athens, Greece, on September 19, 1950 and emigrated to the United States with his parents and his grandmother in 1951, at six months of age. Arthur spent the last 25 years of his life at a group residence in North Brookfield where he enjoyed various activities with his housemates and caring staff. Activities included bowling, cooking, dining out, and visiting the Big E. He loved spending time with his housemates, listening to music, holding hands, eating anything chocolate, and drinking coffee. His favorite food was chicken, broccoli, and ziti alfredo.
Arthur brought much joy to people in his 72 years. He thrived despite his severe disability due to the love and care of his family, especially his caregivers who loved him like family. Arthur’s family is forever grateful to the amazing people who cared for him including Cheri, Laurel, Kirsten, Amanda, Debbie, Karen, Becky, Simon, Linda 1 and Linda 2, his nurse, Ann, as well as others too numerous to mention.
A private funeral was held for Arthur Friday, October 14, 2022 at St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Worcester. Burial was at Hope Cemetery in Worcester. Donations in Arthur’s memory may be made to St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral Endowment Fund, 102 Russell Street, Worcester, MA 01609. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester assisted the family with arrangements.
