Bernard “Barney” di Benedetto, of Westborough, formerly of Wayland, died peacefully in the comfort and care of his family on October 10, 2022.
Devoted husband of the late Marilyn A. “Cookie” (Corcoran) diBenedetto who died November 16, 2020.
Beloved father of Bernard A. diBenedetto, Jr. and his wife Deb of Hopkinton; Katie Henley of Sudbury and Nancy Vanasse and her husband Michael of Clinton. Cherished grandfather of Michael, Nicholas and Julia diBenedetto of Hopkinton; Kelly Henley of Sudbury; Michael and Tyler Vanasse of Clinton. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Brother of the late Anastasio diBenedetto and his late wife Judy; Marcella Wright and her late husband Charles.
Barney was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He graduated from Bedford Hills High School in New York and received his BS in Ceramic Engineering from Alfred University in New York. He had a long and impressive career as a Ceramic Engineer with the Raytheon Corp prior to retiring. He was an avid golfer and was a member of the Tuesday evening golf league with Raytheon playing at Sandy Burr Country Club in Wayland. He will be loved and missed by his family and all the lives that he touched over the years.
Visitations will be held on Monday, October 17, 2022 from 9:00 to 10:00 am at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (off Rt 30), Wayland followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at Good Shepherd Parish at St. Ann Church, 124 Cochituate Road (Rt 27), Wayland.
Interment will follow in the diBenedetto family lot in North Cemetery, Wayland.
