New Bedford – Jose Enrique Cortes Jr., passed away peacefully on October 10th, 2022, surrounded by his wife, eight children, and family at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was 42 years young.
Jose was born in New Bedford, MA and was the son of late Jose Enrique Cortes Sr. and surviving Blanca Iris Garcia.
Jose was a hardworking family man with a fighting spirit. He had a great sense of humor, he was always the life of the party, and he was loved and respected by everyone he ever met.
He is survived by his wife, Monica Cortes; his eight children, Nyel Cortes, Nehemyiah Cortes, Nyseer Cortes, Nhamaa Cortes, Nyjharae Cortes, Destiny Cortes, Jacenia Cortes, Aliyana Cortes; his three sisters, his brother, and his five grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, October 17, 2022, at Perry Funeral Home, from 10 a.m. to 12 a.m., service will begin at 12. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Rural Cemetery, 149 Dartmouth Street, New Bedford, MA.
