CHICOPEE – Lawrence L. Nareau, Sr., 78, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Monday, October 10, 2022. He passed into Eternal Life at CareOne at Redstone in East Longmeadow surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Springfield on November 7, 1943, the beloved son of the late Frank Nareau, Jr. and Mary Ann (Boucher) Nareau. He was raised in Springfield and moved to Chicopee in 2008 where he lived the remainder of his life. He served his country in the United States Air Force. He was employed as a Truck Driver for 40 years for the Vickers Oil Company in West Springfield. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Springfield. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. He leaves his former wife, Marie A. Curto; his two loving children, Lawrence L. Nareau, Jr. and Carol A. White and her husband, Steven, all of Westfield; his two cherished grandsons, Anthony J. Nareau and Daniel J. Nareau, both of North Carolina; his dear brother, Francis Nareau and his wife, Nancy, of Feeding Hills; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended family members. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his dear brother, Albert Nareau; and his three loving sisters, Shirley Eberline, Gloria Thibeault and Rose Lake. His family will receive friends on Monday, October 17, 2022 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107. His Committal Service with United States Air Force Military Honors will be private at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
