Diane L. LeFort (Stevens) age 69, of Brockton, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at Signature Healthcare-Brockton Hospital.
Born in Milwaukee, WI, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Stevens and Florence (Walsh) Stevens and stepdaughter of the late Carol Stevens.
Diane was the first female to graduate from Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School in Culinary Arts in 1971.
She worked at Shaw’s Supermarket at the lunch counter and later worked as a cafeteria worker for the Brockton School Department for 20 years before retiring.
Mrs. LeFort was very outgoing and cared about everyone. She had a great sense of humor, loved to cook, especially Pot Roast, boiled dinners, and her Swedish almond cake. Most of all she was a loving and caring person who was devoted to her family. Diane enjoyed reading books by Danielle Steele, playing Solitaire, and the company of her cat, Boo.
She is survived by her three children, Melissa A. “Missy” Simmons of Brockton, Carolee M. LeRoy and her husband Zachary of Keene, NH and Richard E. Coward and his wife Elizabeth of Randolph; her loving grandchildren, Diana, Robert, Dante, Enzo, and Landyn; three sisters, Barbara Lawson and her husband Robert of FL, Kathleen Stevens and her companion Susan McCann of Hull, Judith Petrone and her husband Donald of Fort Collins, CO; a step sister Dorothy Saunders of Brockton; a step brother, John Berglund of West Bridgewater; several nieces, nephews, and all the people that called her “mom”. She was also the sister of the late Holly Stevens.
To honor Diane’s wishes, all funeral services and interment will be private. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
