CHICOPEE - Nickolas D. "Nick" Weichel, 34, of the Willimansett section of Chicopee, was Called Home on Saturday, October 8, 2022. He passed into Eternal Life in a tragic accident on Springfield Street in Chicopee. He was born in Fairfax, Virginia on January 2, 1988, a beloved son of Karen M. (Beauchemin) Willemain and her husband, Mark, of Palm Bay, Florida. He was raised in Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee High School in 2006, and lived in Chicopee for most of his life. He was employed as a Maintenance Craftsman for the Suez Water Technologies and Solutions, now, Veolia Environmental Services, in Agawam. He was a member of the USSSA Softball League and the Massachusetts Tri-County USBC League. He was an avid golfer and loved to bowl at the Chicopee AMF. Nick especially enjoyed taking a good nap and hanging out with his family and many friends, especially playing a good game of Yahtzee. In addition to his parents, he leaves his loving wife, Christine N. (Dobiecki) Weichel; his three dear brothers, Justin M. Willemain and his wife, Jackie, of Suffield, CT, Daniel M. Willemain and his wife, Monica, of Enfield, CT and Donald J. Weichel III and his wife, Kaylee, of Palm Bay, FL; his maternal grandmother, Gloria (Hamel) Beauchemin of Chicopee; his father in law and mother in law, James F. and Charlene (Williams) Dobiecki of Ludlow; his dear brother in law, Joshua J. Dobiecki of Springfield; his three cherished nephews, Jaxson, Donald IV and Dawsyn; his two cherished nieces, Emma and Hattie; and his many dear cousins, numerous friends and extended family members. He will also be missed by his beloved canine companions, his dogs, Lenox and Duke. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Alfred Beauchemin; his paternal grandparents, Donald Weichel, Sr. and Sandra (Dowden) Weichel; and his dog and best friend, Brody. His family will receive friends on Friday, October 14, 2022 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 3 p.m. at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107. His burial will be private.
