Jeffrey S. Chaplin, passed away suddenly from a medical emergency on the night of October 6, 2022. Jeffrey was born on April 6, 1967, in Indiana. He moved to Norton with his parents and brothers at a young age.
Jeffrey was a graduate of Norton High School where he was the top of his class. He played football and ran cross country in high school. He won several awards for cross country, and he was one of the best in the state of MA. He went to Southeastern Technical Institute for electronics/computer technology and went to Northeastern University of engineering. His wife, Debra, knew Jeffrey wanted to do more than repair computers. She convinced him to attend Stonehill College where he received his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. After receiving his degree at Stonehill College he went to the Norwood Police Academy. He was hired by Randolph Police where he quickly made it through the ranks and was promoted to Lieutenant. He further went on to receive his master’s degree at Western New England College in Criminal Justice Administration during his time at Randolph Police. He served the Town of Randolph for 25 years. In his free time, he enjoyed landscaping, woodworking, biking, playing and watching sports, and most of all, hanging out with his family.
Jeffrey is survived by his wife of 27 years, Debra (Reed) Chaplin. He was a loving and supportive dad of two children Christina (22) and Sean (19). He was the son of Raynor and Jimmie Chaplin of Taunton. He had two brothers who were his best friends, Timothy of Attleboro, and Michael of Taunton. Jeffrey was the uncle and great uncle to several nieces and nephews; Vanessa, Stephanie, Hadleigh, Hannah, Ashley, Kennedy, Taylor, Addison, Tyler, Michael, Noah, and Daniel.
