Elba Iris (Torres) Headen, age 70, of Brockton, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2022, at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, MA. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Efrain Torres and Maria Dolores (Reyes)Torres.
She was raised in Brooklyn and graduated from Franklyn K Lane High School. Elba worked as a secretary at a bank before retiring.
An avid fan of mystery movies and books, she also enjoyed watching anything Sci-Fi and thriller related. Elba was very fond of music, especially music from the 60’s, 70’s, R&B, and Jazz. What really brought Elba joy was her family; especially at gatherings where she would spend every minute with her children and grandchildren. She was an exceptional, vibrant, and outgoing person. Elba was never shy, a social butterfly that would strike up a conversation with anyone.
She is survived by her children Syreena Headen and her husband Miguel Santiago of Brockton and Dennis Headen and his wife Azalea of Atlanta, GA. Elba leaves behind her siblings Juan Torres, Elizabeth Smith, and Minerva Torres, all of Brooklyn New York. Grandmother to Daniel Mereste, Angel Santiago, and Charlize Santiago. Elba is survived by her former husband, Billie Ray Headen of Virginia, as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Elba was the sister of the late Frank Torres.
To honor her wishes, all funeral services were private.
