Janice M. (Dion) Wyatt, age 78, of Rehoboth, formerly of New Mexico and North Attleboro, passed unexpectedly, yet peacefully at home on Sunday, October 9, 2022. She was the beloved wife of Retired U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer David W.R. Wyatt, to whom she was wed on June 18, 1961.
Born in Attleboro, MA on October 5, 1944, she was a loving daughter of the late Henry E. and Rose Ann (Roy) Dion.
Jan grew up in North Attleboro and was educated at Sacred Heart School. She had made her home in Rehoboth for the past three years and was a former twenty-year resident of New Mexico.
Mrs. Wyatt was a dedicated homemaker to her adoring family and had also worked as Teacher’s Aide. Being the wife of a serviceman, she lived in many parts of the world and was a member of the Officers Wives Club. Her family was her main focal point and throughout her life, she had a knack for decorating. Jan also had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her dog “Tatianna”, her cats “Azure”, “Jasmin”, “Sassy” and her bird “Pierre”.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her devoted children: Retired U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer David W.R. Wyatt, II and his wife Sonia of Texas, Colin S.P. Wyatt of Texas and Kimberly M. Lacaillade and her husband Mark of Rehoboth. She was the dear sister of Rose Chambers of Mansfield and was pre-deceased by 3 siblings. She is also survived by her cherished 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, as well as her loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, October 16th from 3:00-6:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp Street (Off Route 140, Taunton Avenue) Norton.
Burial at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne will be private.
Due to the limitation of flowers allowed at the National Cemetery, Janice’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Rehoboth Animal Shelter, 148 Peck Street, Rehoboth, MA 02769.
