Mary F. Hefler, of Bridgewater, Massachusetts peacefully gained her wings on Friday, October 7, 2022 at the age of 78 years young. Born in Boston on July 31, 1944, Mary left an impression on everyone she encountered.
Mary worked in several different professions including restaurants and construction, but the one she held closest to her heart was being a cafeteria lady for the Whitman-Hanson school district. She served the children of the Whitman and Hanson communities at almost every school in the district.
Mary enjoyed making people laugh. She loved listening to music, telling stories, and of course, the casino. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Charles "Sonny" Hefler, her parents Harold and Theresa Ward, and her sister Marion Blair.
She is survived by her brothers Charles Ward and his wife Diane of Wilmington and Michael Ward and his wife Mary, of Cohasset. In addition, she will forever be loved and missed by her daughter Kerry Curry and her husband Tom of Bridgewater and her son Jim Klim and fiance Judy Desantis, of Bridgewater; "bonus" daughter Cheryl Roy of Bridgewater and "bonus" son Brian Farrell of Hanson. She will be remembered in love and laughter by her grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Mary's life on Wednesday, October 12th from 4pm to 7pm in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Route 58) in Whitman. A memorial service will immediately follow.
