Felix P. Hodziewich, 94, of New Bedford passed away peacefully September 30, 2022 at St. Luke's Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
He was the husband of the late Olga (Baveas) Hodziewich.
Born in Fairhaven, son of the late Felix P. and Etheline (St. Onge) Hodziewich, he lived in new Bedford all of his life.
He was formerly employed as a mechanic at the New Bedford Police department for many years until his retirement.
Most of his time was spent with his family. All we had to do was call and he was there, no matter when or where. He could often be found helping at a boatyard, maintaining a lawn, painting a house, fixing a furnace or a car, and spending countless hours with his grandchildren. That smile which lightened our hearts and his positive, protective attitude will never be forgotten.
Survivors include his 2 sons, Bruce Hodziewich and his wife Janet of Rochester, and Tom Hodziewich and his wife Brenda of Acushnet; a daughter, Gail Rebello of Fairhaven; 6 grandchildren, Andrew and his wife Elizabeth, Jon, Katie and her husband Chris, Kirstyn, Cameron and Alexa; 5 great-grandchildren, Norah, Nolan, Gabriella, Hazel and Lucius Felix; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the grandfather of the late James Connor and brother of the late Paul Hodziewich, Robert Hodziewich, Kenneth Hodziewich and Theresa Dumont.
His visiting hours will be held on Thursday, October 13th from 4-7 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the charity of your choice.
