Sherry Ann Garner, 72, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at Atrium Navicent Health in Macon, Georgia.
A visitation will be held 6-8 PM, Saturday evening, October 8, 2022, at The Paulk Funeral Home in Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Mrs. Garner was born October 9, 1949, in East Point, Georgia, to the late Ross Groover, Sr. and the late Mary Claire Thompson Groover. She worked as a nurse’s aide for Life Care Center, Osceola Nursing Home, and Palemon Gaskins Memorial Nursing Home. She was also a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed sewing and quilting and attended Ocilla Church of God.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Danny Garner of Fitzgerald; sons: William Scarborough of Fitzgerald, Thomas Scarborough, Sr. & Cristle of Nashville, Jason Scarborough & Liz of Fitzgerald, and Daniel Garner & Jennifer of Wray; grandchildren: Thomas Scarborough, Jr. & Robyn, Dale Garner, Daniel Garner, Jr., William Mason Scarborough, Summer Lynn Scarborough, Daisy Scarborough, Dixie Scarborough, Aaron Adams, Jacob Scarborough, and Christian Luke Garner; several great-grandchildren; and two brothers: Charles Groover of Texas and Gerrell Groover of Atlanta. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Scott William Garner; a great-grandson, Tobias Scarborough; a brother, Ross Groover, Jr.; and two sisters: Judy Strickland and Sherrell Bartlett.
