WORCESTER___Helen M. (Andruiskevicius) Nalivaika, 90, of Worcester, passed away with family by her side after a period of declining health on September 30, 2022 in Knollwood Nursing Center, West Boylston. Her husband of 56 years, Leonas Nalivaika died in 2016.
Helen leaves her children, Leo A. Nalivaika and his wife Kathleen of Worcester and Ellen A. Nalivaika and her husband, Kendall Knight of Worcester; three grandchildren, Kristin Nalivaika, Alison Nalivaika and Andrew Nalivaika and his fiancée, Vanessa Konzelmann, a great-grandson, Isaiah and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers and a sister, Charles Andruskiewicz, Stanley Anderson and Veronica Chester. Helen was born in Lowell a daughter of the late Andrius and Marijona (Aldavicius) Andruiskevicius and has lived in Worcester for most of her life.
Mrs. Nalivaika worked in food service for many years. Helen was a member of the Lithuanian Scouts Parents Committee, Maironis Park, was a member of the former St. Casimir Church and St. Casimir Mothers Guild and the Knights of Lithuania, Lowell Ma., Council. Helen loved to bake and cook for her family. She was a devoted grandmother and always made time for her grandchildren.
The funeral will be held on Thursday October 6, 2022 from DIRSA – MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street, with a Mass at 11:30 A.M. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton Street. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. A calling hour in the funeral home will be Thursday October 6, 2022 from 9:30 to 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Franciscan Monastery, 28 Beach Ave., Kennebunk, ME 04043 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
