Kathryn “Billie” Schlichting (Pimentel) of Winthrop passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022. She was 93 years old. Kathryn was the beloved wife of the late Henry W. Schlichting. Born in Winthrop, she was the cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Rebello) Pimentel.
Prior to her retirement, Billie worked for Leonard Florence at Towle Silversmith in East Boston. After retirement, Billie worked in the kitchen at the Winthrop Senior Center.
Kathryn was the devoted mother of Walter R. Schlichting and his wife Karen and Thomas H. Schlichting and his wife Holly all of Winthrop. She was the adored grandmother of Michael Schlichting and Diane Houghton and her husband David, Beau and Antea Schlichting and great-grandmother of Ben and Riley Houghton. Kathryn was the dear sister of the late Joseph and Jack Pimentel and Marie Howard. She was the loving aunt of Annmarie Silva. Kathryn was cared for by her dedicated caregiver and friend Robin Morey.
A funeral service will be held in the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home 210 Winthrop St. Winthrop on Thursday, October 6th, at 10AM. Relatives and friends are invited. Interment will be in Winthrop Cemetery (Belle Isle Section). Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, from 4-7PM.
