John J. Beasley, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Friday, September 30, 2022 at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge. He was 85 years of age.
John was born in Boston on December 1, 1936, a son of the late Jeremiah J. Beasley and Hannah V. (Sweeney) Beasley. He grew up in Charlestown and was educated throughout the Boston Public School system. John furthered his education and received his Associates Degree from Northeastern University. John worked as a Painter at Northeastern University for 33 years. He enjoyed woodcarving and was a member of The Old Charlestown Schoolboys Association, The Charlestown Stove Pipe Gallery, Charlestown Community Garden, Essex County Beekeepers Association and the Community Boat Building thru the Boston Public School system.
John is the devoted father of John R. "Jack" Beasley and his wife Ann Marie, Susanne Lucero, David Beasley and his wife Cathy and Stephanie Canale. He is the former husband of Maureen (Lawler) Prasinos. He is the father-in-law of Paul Canale. He is the loving Gumpa to Daniela, Claudia, Jeremiah, Emily and her husband Brent, Jonathan, Christine, Stephen and his wife Meghan and his great-grandchildren Karmen, Remmington, Briella and Aubrey. He is the beloved brother of William Beasley and his wife Kathy and the late Geraldine Vraibel and Timothy Beasley and his surviving wife Mary. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend John's visiting hours on Tuesday morning, October 4, 2022 from 9 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 11 A.M. His burial will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery in Lynn.
