Mary E. (Benoit) Turcotte
TEWKSBURY Mary E. (Benoit) Turcotte, 87 of Tewksbury, passed away at her home with her family by her side after a brief period of declining health on Wednesday, September 28, 2022. She was the widow of the late Robert J. Turcotte with whom she shared 46 years of marriage before his passing in 2003.
She was born in Tewksbury on August 20, 1935 and was a daughter of the late Arthur and Agnes (Hurley) Benoit. She was raised in Tewksbury where she attended the area schools.
Mary was dedicated to her career as a library aide with the Town of Tewksbury for over 30 years before her retirement. She enjoyed golfing, sewing, knitting and crocheting. She loved traveling with her husband in their RV, anywhere they could travel they would. Her fondest memories are some of the cross country journeys they took together. Above all else, spending time with her family creating memories brought her the most happiness.
Mary is survived by three children, Stephen M. Turcotte and his wife, Gerilyn M. of Lowell, Jeanne M. Dorazio and her husband, Ronald of Wilmington, NC, and Robert M. Turcotte of Tewksbury; her six grandchildren, Heather, Mark and Matthew Turcotte, Danielle Burke, Corrine Asfour, and Jamie Turcotte; her 9 great grandchildren; her dedicated and beloved niece and caretaker, Debra A. Moore; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Bob, and parents, Mary was welcomed into heaven by her grandson, the late Timothy Dorazio; and her eight siblings.
On Sunday, October, 2, 2022 all are welcome to attend her calling hours from 3 - 7 p.m. at Tewksbury Funeral Home, 1 Dewey Street, Tewksbury, MA 978-851-2061. (our main parking area is currently under construction, parking is available across the street at TD Bank or street parking on Dewey Street)
On Monday morning, her funeral mass will be offered at 10 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main Street, Tewksbury. Procession will follow for burial at Tewksbury Cemetery.
