Mrs. Dorothy L. (Alonzo) Tracey 71, a longtime Franklin resident died peacefully Thursday May 18, 2006 at her home following a brief illness. She was the wife of Paul R. Tracey.
Born September 1, 1934 a daughter of the late Loreto and Mary (Naimo) Alonzo she spent her early years in the North End section of Boston before moving to Franklin 42 years ago.
Mrs. Tracey was educated in Boston schools and when she moved to Franklin she worked as a homemaker and a child care provider for many families
in the area.
She was a member of the Franklin Senior Citizens, the American Association of Retired Persons and St. Mary’s Church.
In addition to her husband of 42 years she is survived by a daughter Lisa M. Popowski and her husband Myron of South Hadley and a granddaughter Kristyn M. Popowski also of South Hadley a sister Lydia Augliera of Winchester, a step-brother Dominic Alonzo of Boston.
She was the sister of the late Angelina Tedesco and Louise DiOrio.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Monday May 22, 2006 at 11:45AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. FRANKLIN followed by a funeral Mass at 12:30PM in St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq.
Interment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery in South Hadley, Ma.
A calling hour will be Monday morning from 10:30-11:30AM at the funeral home. Donations in her memory sent to Caritas good Samaritan Hospice 3 Edgewater Dr. Norwood, MA 02062 would be appreciated.
